Delegation of the Slovenian Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (SQAA), led by the SQAA director professor Franci Demsar, visited the National Entity for Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education of Serbia (NEAQA) on September 10th and 11th, 2019. The delegation was welcomed by the NEAQA director professor Jelena Kocovic, with her associates. During the visit cooperation agreement between NEAQA and SQAA was signed by agencies’ directors on Wednesday, September 11th, 2019. Signing the cooperation agreement have made new possibilities for expanding the existing cooperation to the areas including exchange of experts, cooperation on hiring foreign peer-reviewers, quality assurance of joint study programmes of Serbian and Slovenia higher education institutions, and sharing information on accredited higher education institutions and study programmes in two countries. In the course of a very amicable discussions, both parties highlighted the importance of cooperation between two institutions on organization of trainings, seminars and conferences, potentially jointly applying for available programs and projects within the framework of higher education reform, sharing knowledge and experience in harmonization of the national quality standard for higher education with European Standards and Guidelines (ESG) for quality assurance in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). Professor Slobodan Unkovic, vice-president of the NEAQA’s Management Board, professor Ana Sijacki, president of the NEAQA’s Commission for Accreditation and Quality Assurance, Mrs. Ana Jakovljevic, PhD, NEAQA’s secretary, and Mr. Aleksandar Jovic, responsible for international affairs, projects and trainings at the NEAQA, also attended the meeting with professor Franci Demsar and Mrs. Maja Milas from the SQAA.
