On January 16, 2025, an online meeting was held between representatives of NEAQA and the Hellenic Authority for Higher Education (HAHE). The NEAQA delegation was led by Prof. Nebojša Zdravković, PhD, Director of NEAQA, accompanied by the Chief of Staff and colleagues from the International Cooperation Department.
The discussion focused on exchanging experiences in various aspects of quality assurance in higher education. Special attention was given to the methodology for training reviewers, with HAHE representatives presenting their approaches and best practices in detail. Additionally, the discussion covered the procedure for handling objections from higher education institutions, which differs from the appeals process and serves as an important mechanism for ensuring transparency and objectivity in quality assurance processes.
The topics also included the methods HAHE uses to collect and process feedback through surveys and questionnaires, as well as how this feedback is applied to improve their operations. Of particular interest were HAHE’s experiences in conducting thematic analyses, which are based on data from reviewers’ reports, providing deeper insights into the higher education system.
Furthermore, experiences were shared regarding the preparation of self-assessment reports, a necessary component of the application process for full membership in the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA).
The meeting was held in a highly constructive atmosphere, and it was agreed that cooperation between the two agencies will continue and be formalized through the signing of a memorandum of understanding. NEAQA plans to visit Greece during 2025 to formalize this agreement.
The National Entity for Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education (NEAQA) extends its gratitude to its Greek colleagues for their openness and willingness to share knowledge, confident that this collaboration will significantly contribute to the further development of the quality assurance system in higher education.
