The Director of NEAQA, Prof. Nebojša Zdravković, PhD, is visiting Barcelona as part of a three-day professional visit to the AQU Catalunya agency. This visit is taking place from March 24 to 26, 2025, within the SEQA-ESG2 project, which supports the enhancement of quality assurance systems in higher education in Serbia and other participating countries by aligning with the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG).
The SEQA-ESG2 project is an initiative aimed at supporting national accreditation agencies in achieving compliance with ESG through the exchange of best practices, training, and staff mobility. Within this project, agencies such as NEAQA have the opportunity to learn from experienced European agencies like AQU about accreditation methodologies, data analysis, transparency, and innovations in quality assurance. In this context, staff mobility plays a particularly important role, enabling experts from participating agencies to gain direct insight into best practices, methodologies, and innovative approaches to quality assurance through working visits to experienced European agencies.
During the visit, Prof. Zdravković is participating in a series of meetings and working sessions with colleagues from the AQU Catalunya, where the main topics of discussion will include:
- Improving internal quality assurance systems,
- Methodologies for conducting thematic analyses,
- Training and evaluation of reviewers,
- Collecting and processing feedback from higher education institutions,
- Developing appeal and complaint procedures in accordance with ESG standards.
The program began with a presentation of the AQU Catalunya, delivered by Jaume Valls, Director, and Ana Prades, Head of the Internationalization and Knowledge Generation Sector. In the coming days, sessions will be held to facilitate the exchange of experiences in accreditation, transparency, and the evaluation of higher education institutions.
A special emphasis will be placed on the presentation of NEAQA, scheduled for March 26. On this occasion, the Director of NEAQA will present to our colleagues from AQU the accreditation and quality assurance system in Serbia, the structure of NEAQA, accreditation and quality assurance procedures, as well as the latest reforms in Serbian higher education. This will also be an opportunity to exchange experiences and discuss potential future cooperation.
This mobility represents an important step not only in strengthening international cooperation and improving accreditation and quality assurance processes in higher education but also in achieving the key goals of the SEQA-ESG2 project, which aims to build the capacity of agencies through knowledge exchange and best practices.
