The National Entity for Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education (NEAQA) is proud to announce that its Director, Professor Nebojša Zdravković, PhD, officially became a member of the CEENQA Executive Board on 10 June 2026. This marks the first time in history that a representative of Serbia has been elected to such a prestigious position within one of the most important European organizations in the field of quality assurance in higher education.
What is CEENQA?
The Central and Eastern European Network for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (CEENQA) brings together national accreditation and quality assurance agencies from Central and Eastern Europe. The network facilitates the exchange of best practices and contributes to the development of standards that shape the future of higher education across the region.
Significance of This Achievement
As a full member of CEENQA, NEAQA now participates directly in decision-making processes that influence the future of European higher education. This position enables Serbia to play a more active role in regional initiatives and to contribute its expertise to the enhancement of quality assurance practices in higher education institutions across Europe.
The latest CEENQA General Assembly, held on 10 June 2026 in Split, Croatia, adopted a number of important organizational decisions, including the election of five new members to the Executive Board. Among the newly elected members is the Director of NEAQA, marking a historic milestone for Serbia and creating significant opportunities for the promotion of national quality standards at the international level.
In its official statement, CEENQA welcomed the newly elected members of the Executive Board and expressed optimism regarding the organization’s future development. In this context, the appointment of Professor Nebojša Zdravković, PhD, significantly enhances Serbia’s visibility within European higher education initiatives and strengthens the country’s role in the quality assurance of higher education.
