NEAQA became a full member of the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE) on March 20, 2023. INQAAHE is a worldwide association (founded in 1991, in Barcelona) of more than 300 organizations active in the theory and practice of quality assurance in higher education.
INQAAHE’s mission is to promote and advance excellence in tertiary education through the support of an active international community of QA providers by:
- Focusing on the development of the theory and practice of QA;
- Strengthening exchange and understanding of policies and actions in quality and QA;
- Promoting QA for the benefit of tertiary education, institutions, students and society at large.
After the evaluation procedure, the INQAAHE Board of Directors made a decision on granting full membership to NEAQA which gained numerous benefits, such as the participation in the decision-making of the INQAAHE General Assembly (voting rights), participation and organization of INQAAHE events (annual conferences in which world experts in the field of quality assurance of higher education participate, offering a platform for quality improvement to higher education policymakers and other stakeholders), the right to use the official INQAAHE logo, as well as providing assistance in connecting with other relevant members to exchange experiences, research, cooperation, etc.
