Meeting with the Agency for Higher Education of the Republic of Srpska (AHERS)

On Friday, January 24, 2025, an online meeting was held between representatives of NEAQA and the Agency for Higher Education of the Republic of Srpska (AHERS). Representing AHERS were Prof. Biljana Vojvodić, PhD, Director, and Tatjana Radaković, Senior Advisor for Accreditation and International Cooperation. The NEAQA delegation was led by Prof. Stefan Milojević, PhD, Chief of Staff and Assistant Director, with the participation of Ana Marjanović, MSc, Head of Accreditation Affairs.

The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation in the area of data exchange between AHERS and NEAQA, based on the existing Agreement on Cooperation between the two agencies. This initiative aims to ensure timely information sharing to detect and prevent potential abuses in the accreditation process of higher education institutions and study programmes, which is crucial for improving the quality of higher education, as well as for maintaining integrity, transparency, and alignment with the highest professional and ethical standards.

During the meeting, the joint role of AHERS and NEAQA within the SEQA-ESG2 project was also discussed. Particular attention was given to sharing experiences in implementing recommendations from the European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (ENQA). Representatives of NEAQA and AHERS exchanged examples of good practices and highlighted significant progress in both systems, aiming to further enhance accreditation procedures.

Both parties agreed to continue regular data and information exchange to ensure transparency and efficiency in the higher education system. They also committed to working together to continuously improve the quality of higher education. The National Entity for Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education (NEAQA) expresses its gratitude to the representatives of AHERS for their openness and constructive collaboration and looks forward to future joint activities that will contribute to strengthening educational standards in the region.
