Professor Dr. Nebojša Zdrvković, Director of the National Entity for Accreditation and Quality Assurance in Higher Education of the Republic of Serbia (NEAQA), participated in the Fifth Serbian International Conference on Applied Artificial Intelligence – AAI2026, held on 20–21 May 2026 at the Geneva Lux Hotel in Kragujevac.
At the official opening ceremony of the conference, Professor Zdravković addressed the participants on behalf of NEAQA, emphasizing the importance of the development of artificial intelligence for contemporary society, science, and higher education.
On this occasion, he underlined that artificial intelligence represents one of the most significant transformative forces of the modern era, whose impact extends far beyond the field of computer science and encompasses healthcare, education, industry, economics, public administration, and scientific research.
He particularly highlighted the importance of conferences such as AAI2026 in fostering connections among the academic community, research institutions, industry, and policymakers, as well as in promoting interdisciplinary cooperation and the exchange of knowledge in the field of artificial intelligence.
The Director of NEAQA also stressed the importance of preserving academic integrity, ensuring the ethical application of emerging technologies, protecting data privacy, and strengthening critical thinking within the higher education system. He emphasized that quality assurance systems must continuously evolve in accordance with technological progress and European standards.
In his address, Professor Zdravković extended special congratulations to Professor Nenad Filipović President of the Organizing Committee of the conference, highlighting his contribution to the development and international recognition of the conference.
The AAI2026 Conference brought together numerous national and international researchers, professors, students, and representatives of institutions and industry, with the aim of exchanging the latest scientific achievements and experiences in the field of applied artificial intelligence.
