Prof. Slobodan Unkovic is professor emeritus at Singidunum University in Belgrade.
He graduated at the Faculty of Economics, Belgrade in 1961. He also obtained his Master and PhD degree at the same faculty in 1963 and 1966 respectively . He was appointed teaching assistant in December 1962, assistant professor and visiting professor and full professor at the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade in 1980.
He is a former rector of University of Belgrade, dean of the Faculty of Economics in Belgrade, dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hospitality Management, Singidunum University and head of the Department of Postgraduate studies and international cooperation at Singidunum University.
He is an expert of the World Tourism Organisation and World Association of Travel Agencies. He was the president of the scientific council of the Ministry of Tourism of Yugoslavian government. He was a deputy president of the Tourism Council of the Republic of Serbia.
He is a holder of numerous local and international awards. He is also emeritus professor at Lomonosov University in Moscow and Renmin University in Beijing, as well as honorable holder of doctoral degree at Lincoln University, USA and Mediteranean University in Montenegro.
He is an author and co-author of various scientific papers in the area of economics, management and tourism and hospitality. One of the most relevant publications is the course book ‘’Economics of Tourism’’’, issued in English and Chinese in 26 editions.
